Did you ever try to find a lost friend on the Internet? March 1, 2009
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentHave you ever tried to find a lost friend on the Internet? I have it is not as easy as you might think. I had a good friend in junior high and I have fond memories of hanging out having fun with him. We would hang out listen to music talk just have a great time.
The other day I was thinking about my long-lost friend and I decided to try to find them on the Internet. It seems everyone nowadays uses the Internet so I figured it shouldn’t be difficult to locate him. I pulled up Google typed his name and get pages on pages of results. I checked out page after page but didn’t find any mention of my friend just a lot of people with similar names.
I decided try to narrow my search a bit by including the town and state where we grew up. Unfortunately they were still too many pages to look through for it to be practical to find my lost friend. I decided Google just gave to many results so I would try using a less popular search engine like MSN.
I typed in my friends name and the city and state where we grew up and sure enough I did get a lot fewer results. Instead of hundreds of pages there are only eight. I started looking through those pages of results and I found a couple which I thought would surely lead me to find my lost friend. However, after an hour of searching I still came up empty.
Then I decided to try Yahoo. Since Yahoo search has been around longer than Google or MSN I thought I might have better luck there. Again I entered my friends name the city and state and this time I got about 30 pages of results. I started the arduous task of looking through each and every page and clicking on link after link. Now I was getting frustrated I spent all this time and still cannot find my lost friend.
I pretty much gave up on finding my friend until a couple months later when I discovered reunion.com. I decided to give the site a try and I was amazed at how quickly I was able to turn up results for my lost friend. The service was not free but considering the amount of time I have wasted trying to search in the regular search engines it was definitely worth the small price.
I was able to find a phone number for my friend and I gave them a call. He was very happy to hear from me. In fact, he had been searching for me also. We have a long phone conversation and it turns out that he lived close enough that we could meet for lunch. Although it was more difficult to locate my lost friend than I had imagined it was great to find him and I’m glad I put in the effort.
Comparison of Different School Name Labels March 1, 2009
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentPeople like to know which garments and possessions are theirs, and in most situations this is not a problem If large numbers of people wear uniforms, or have their clothes cleaned at the same time then some kind of name label identification is needed. There are several kinds of clothes tags and we evaluate them all as follows:
Uniform label Appearance:
The most attractive labels are printed fabric or woven labels which need to be sewn into garments, second place is shared by iron on labels and stikins and last place has to go to laundry markers and biro where the name is written into the garment.
Speed of Name Label Application
The fastestway of labelingclothing is a laundry pen followed by stikins and then iron on labelling. Sewing in labels comes last in terms of speed especially if one is a non sewer, or have many children.
Name Label Durability:
Washing machines remove dirt from clothes, and have difficult environment for labels. Labels can fail because they come off or because the print fades. A well sewn in woven name label is the most durable solution and it should last the life of the garment. Mixed results come from iron on labels in terms of staying in; some are very good and some are poor, the kind of fabric they are ironed on to is also a factor, but they tend not to fade. Stikins name labels generally survive extremely well if put on correctly and the print does not fade. Laundry markers do tend to fade with time but there is no issue regarding falling off.
Name Label Cost:
Laundry markers are the lowest cost and there are also some low priced label sew in tapes. Woven and embroidered name labels have a range of prices and are generally more expensive than iron in labels and stikins. The most expensive name labels are the ones that do not work, or need replacing often so buying cheap may not be good value in the end.
Which Name Labels are Best?
None of the labels in this article is an outright winner, all have pros and cons and the most suitable for you will depend what is most important to you. If appearance overrides everything go for the best woven labels, if cost is vital buy a marker pen, if you want a good all round performer buy Stikins. A referral from a friend or samples first is a good way of making sure of the quality of iron on labels, which can also be good all rounders. So good luck choosing school tags for your clothes.
Colon Cleanse Products March 1, 2009

It is certainly recommended that everyone makes it a point to go out and get colon cleansing performed once in a year, especially as in this modern day and age people are eating foods that, to put it mildly, will cause accumulation of a lot of waste in the colon. A dirty colon will result in poor performing digestive system and this in turn will lead to development of diseases that can turn out to be life threatening. It therefore makes sense to learn about how best to cleanse the colon and one option worth considering is using a good colon cleanse product.
Improper Diet
The most obvious reason for a person’s colon to become dirty is their lack of attention to eating a proper diet. In fact, when people eat foods with little or no nutritious value and which also does not contain sufficient fiber the chances of having colon related problems increase considerably. Deficient intake of fiber leads to a poor digestive system which in turn causes particles of food to remain undigested and that in turn leads to sedimentation of the colonic walls leading to blocking the path from where waste is eliminated.
A blocked colon means the immune system suffers and when this occurs the body is unable to absorb sufficient nutrients to remain healthy. With time the need to cleanse the colon becomes more pronounced and this is when you will need to start using a good colon cleansing product to do the cleansing. Otherwise, your entire digestive system will be corrupted.
Dieting is a cheap and effective means of colon cleansing. However, use of a good colon cleanse product too can prove to be more effective and in fact the popularity and numbers of colon cleanse products too have risen on account of the many benefits they provide. The very strong competition between manufacturers of colon cleanse products has meant that you can now find some very attractive deals, though you should not sacrifice quality for quantity when buying a colon cleanse product.
Among the better colon cleanse products you can include names such as Colonix, Puristat, Enuvia, Bowtrol and Regulux as too Regulux and Copurin. Other names include ColonBlow, Almighty Cleanse, and The Perfect Cleanse as too Dual Action Cleanse. With so much choice available it is often hard to identify the best colon cleanse product.
However, you can be sure that if you confine your search for colon cleanses products to just health food stores then chances are pretty slim of finding the best product. However, if instead you look at some of the items that you buy for your home from a grocery shop you could actually come across some very effective colon cleanse products that will do the trick for you at very little cost.

El Filibusterismo Buod March 1, 2009
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentThe vacation is coming to a close, and pretty soon it will be back to school or back to work. But I still haven’t finished reading the different chapter summaries of Jose Rizal’s El Filibusterismo.
There are 37 chapters, and the novel is quite riveting (although I still prefer the more romantic Noli Me Tangere). The El Fili has darker undercurrents which talk about revolution. It is easy to understand how the main character (Ibarra in the Noli) has transformed into Simoun in the El Fili.
As I’ve mentioned earlier, time is running out. I’m scrambling for a summary (or buod) of the entire novel. Perhaps if I had the luxury of time, then I would carefully savor Rizal’s writings and get to know his characters better.
Characters such as Padre Florentino, Fray Damaso, Isagani, Maria Clara, Senor Pasta, and many more will surely be treasured and remembered thanks to this masterpiece of Jose Rizal. Among the colorful characters I shall never forget is Donya Victorina, who was first introduced in Chapter 1 of the El Fili.
The strange thing is, most of us fail to appreciate the novel while we are still in high school or college. It is usually only when we have left the four walls of our school, when we are busy with work and family, that we finally learn to appreciate Rizal’s Noli and El Fili better.
That’s when we have more time, somewhat, to go back and read those old, yellowing pages. There’s no pressure, no high grades to aim for. There’s only the still, quiet air around us as we ease into a comfortable chair.
And as we go deeper into the story, we remember our life back then. Back when we were teenagers wishing we did not have to read Rizal, and back to the days when we had the time of our lives with our friends.
Truly, required reading does not have to be boring. It does not have to be some kind of chore. We may not see the true value today, but I am certain that somewhere down life’s road, we shall come back.
In the meantime, I will return to the pages of the El Filibusterismo, and admire the skill and writing talent of Jose Rizal.
