Seniors need hobbies too! February 28, 2009

Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a comment

Hobbies like reading, scrapebooking, writing fiction, researching family history can do wonders for a senior’s physical and mental well being. Some seniors prefer hobbies like ball room dancing while others like quieter hobbies like stamp collecting. It is completely up to you to decide whether to pursue the traditional stereotypical hobbies (like gardening or golf) or to begin with something totally wild like skydiving. Try the hobbies you always wanted to do when you were younger. Most seniors do have hobbies and use them to pass the time wisely. If the hobby you are interested in requires a minimal of physical activity, you will still benefit physically from the mental activity. Your brain loves to think and stay active. Remember the old cliche, “Never stop learning.” Well, this evens applies more as we get older and helps us maintain proper mental functions.

Once you decide to undertake a new hobby, check your local newspaper. Look for gatherings or information about others doing the same hobby. You will be able to meet other hobby enthusiasts interested and just as enthusiastic about your hobby as you are. This feeling of enthusiasm can be quite contagious and fun for all. You will find other hobbyists ready to socialize, full of new ideas, and time spent together will become something to look forward to.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series February 27, 2009

One of the biggest auto racing events in America is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Sprint took over sponsorship of the NASCAR Cup Series in 2008.  The cup series was previously known as the Nextel Cup Series and before that the Winston Cup Series. The Cup Series was changed a couple of years ago to make it more competitive and exciting for the fans. The NASCAR Sprint Cup “Race to the Chase” was established, much like a “playoff” system.  After 26 regular season races the top twelve drivers in points are eligible to compete for the Sprint Cup over the last 10 races of the season. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rewards drivers points for leading laps, wins and for the most laps led. Drivers who lead a whole lap during a race receive five bonus points. Five points are awarded for leading the most laps in a race while winning a race gets the winner 10 points.

Owner’s points frequently differ from drivers’ points over the season. It is rare for owner and driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to be one and the same. This is partly due to the structure of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series  favouring multiple car teams such as Childress Racing, Goe Gibbs Racing, DEI and Hendrick Motor Sports.

It takes several people besides just the driver to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  This ranges from the pit crews who service the cars during the race for the cup to the designers and car builders, who work all year to find ways to improve the cars and gain a slight advantage over other teams. Computers and simulations are used by crew chiefs to help them judge how well a car will perform at the various track configurations.

NASACAR has become of the most popular family sports in the US. It’s a sport that all members of the family can enjoy. Many show up in their RVs and watch the race from lawn chairs perched on their roof. NASCAR fans are very loyal to their favorite drivers. One of the biggest crowd favorites is Dale Earnhardt Jr. His fans are affectionally known as the “Junior Nation”.

What’s the next step in your online career ? February 27, 2009

When I started to learn marketing online it was so exciting. I studied and eventually learned how to publish my very first website and started actually making a nice little income on the side with Adsense. That same site almost 5 years later pays my bills and has allowed me to quit my job. I am so grateful that I started my journey when I did and had the faith to continue when I thought I would give up. I recently started looking for some other way to diversify my online income.I considered all sorts of different things, and tried a few.

I tried selling stuff on Yahoo using dropshippers for paintball guns. It took me a couple months to learn how to do the graphics, study up on the subject, write content about it all and set up a merchant account. I spent like 40.00 per month on the site, and in 3 months managed to get one order. Yes, one. I excitedly packed it up and mailed it off the very next day and got an angry letter from the customer asking why it was taking so long. How could I help that it was all the way across the country and that it would take 5 days to get there..? Anyway, the next week came another order. One made with a stolen credit card. What a headache.

And after all of my trouble I didn’t even break even on the gun because of all of the merchant account charges. There just wasn’t enough profit. Other people were undoubtedly making this work but I wasn’t.

I imagine alot of you can relate to some of these examples and are looking right here and now for a legitimate way of earning money online.I’ve always been fascinated with learning pay per click advertising but have heard too many stories about people really losing loads of money in the process. And the fact is that I just didn’t have abunch of money for expensive courses that were probably outdated by the time you read them.

Now I’m excited to be in a group of lucky people who are actually going through training and will give you the headsup and my own ppc Kahuna review on how to do this pay per click stuff properly with tools that allow you to guage the competition and write your ads better then they do. We’ll have access to software that lets us know the best keywords to go after and why this will help you get more site traffic .

We’re going to be learning how to produce the best landing pages and everything else that goes with creating a successful marketing campaign. And it’s brought to you by the same guys that brought you Portal Feeder and Sydicate Kahuna. I”ve started a blog dedicated to evaluating the program and giving you an honest review of ppc kahuna. Maybe you’ll join me.
