Online Spanish lessons and children’s books in Spanish are two great ways to get started learning Spanish. Another way that many people learn to speak Spanish is by taking traditional classes at a local University or Community College. Online there are lots of courses for all abilities and for all desired levels of knowledge.

The best way to learn to speak Spanish is the way that will be most fun for you. Online classes offer a convenient and easy free way to learn some easy Spanish by simply logging onto the learning web site which has all the tools and learning aids of a conventional classroom. There is usually a class moderator or tutor, and exercises are offered along with reading materials, games and drills. Other options like the online Rocket Spanish course, are available.

Speaking fluent basic Spanish means being able to use the language over a specific period of time without help. And that is why learning to speak Spanish fluently has been one of the concerns of language developers and teachers. Speaking the language by itself maybe relatively straightforward, but hearing it from someone else is much more trying. You can learn Spanish more easily if you actually get audio cds to listen to as you practice the words, and learn to get familiar with Spanish phrases through sound alone.

Watching Spanish speaking television is also a good practice. If available, watch English speaking TV with Spanish captioning, so you will associate the words. Watch the actor’s facial movements and their behavior toward each other. The highly dramatized way in which shows are presented will allow you to get a better feel of how the Spanish language is spoken by native speakers.

Create a shade for your dogs while traveling December 30, 2008

Here’s a good idea for when you’re traveling with your dog or dogs. I have often taken road trips from Kansas to Minnesota, and from Kansas to Colorado, and I like to take my two mutts with me, in the back seat.

I find they’re a lot happier when they don’t have the sun shining down on them. If they get too hot, they pant and pant and move around and try to get some shade. So I devised a doggie shade for my car.

I got one of those pliable, lightweight windshield shades — the kind that folds down into a small circle. I use some clothesline cord or something similar, and I thread it back and forth a few times between the head rests in the front seat to the buttons above the back seat that allow the seat to fold down. You can usually find some kind of peg or button or head rest to wrap around from front to back.

The window shade then just rests on top of the “webbing” that I just created. The webbing doesn’t have to be overly tight or strong, since the window shade is very lightweight. This blocks the sun from the dogs, and they sleep a lot better that way. It also keeps them from looking out the window all the time, wondering what’s going on out there. It seems to keep them calmer.

It’s very quick and easy, and is certainly inexpensive. After the trip, it’s very easy to take it down and put away. It’s been an excellent solution for my dogs. They love to travel with me, and I love having them along.

For more ideas about dog care, visit my site, Love-Those-Doggies. I have information about dog training, grooming, walking, pet boarding, etc.

I hope you find this information helpful. I know it has helped my dogs be a lot more comfortable when they travel with me. And they’re so much fun to be around on my visits back home with family.

If you’re hurting financially, consignment shops are a great place to find bargains in children’s clothes, toys, and even amaish baby furniture at a percentage of the price that you would pay if they were new. And You’ll find the items in good condition also. That more and more thrift stores selling second hand items are popping up all over the country is a testament to the general poor condition of the economy.

It’s hard to believe that a recently as a few years ago many moms might feel a stigma attached to having to buy toys and so forth at a consignment shop. But this is the new reality as the country, in the throes of a solid recession, teeters on the edge of a full blown depression.

This is all good news for consignment shops however who’s businesses are booming. A consignment shop, in the right area, is operating under an excellent business model. Tight economic times force people to offer their clothes, baby supplies, amish crafted baby furniture, and so on at whatever price they will sell for. The consignment owner doesn’t pay the person until it sells. If it doesn’t sell, the person simply takes their merchandise back.

But it’s a good arrangement for the seller as well who is able to get at least a few dollars for an item that she no longer has need of. For some people these few dollars are what’s keeping them financially afloat during these hard times. So it’s a win-win for everyone.
