Designing Your Families Home Theater For Optimum Hearing Effect - Really Get Into The Video With The Perfect Set Up December 20, 2008
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentReplacing the standard speaker on the Television with a dedicated speaker system will make a substantial difference in the sound quality of your system, and your experience with it. It might mean anything to a soap viewer, but for gamers, movie and DVD watchers and those who se blu-ray, this could mean a world of difference. Of course most good TVs have built-in speakers but nothing compares to a full surround audio system. A common reason to buy an HD Television set, aside from the current mass marketing, is after viewing a friends or relatives new set.
You shouldn’t head right out to your store for an HD television until you aware of how much you can comfortably spend and just exactly you want it for! Be prepared to spend 10 percent of the TV price on cabling for the speakers in case you are contemplating to buy or already have surround sound speakers. External speakers will also require a decent amplifier if you want the best from them. This is an additional cost running into hundreds or even thousands and cannot be explained in one single article.
Speakers are available not only in several forms but there are various aspects to it also – you are looking at a ratio 5:1 and above, which is nothing but 5 speakers to one sub-woofer. The speakers consist of one centre speaker, a left and right “surround” speaker - these typically sit at the far, front corners from the seat and a left and right rear speaker. While each of these are independent but their positioning have to done in such a way that the seating place is in the center. Most AV receivers / amps can be configured however to control the volume they output at to offset the speaker location accordingly.
The purpose of a sub-woofer is to optimize the movie sounds and make it most realistic, so having one can greatly improve your movie watching experience. It brings sounds to life - it creates the small, but intensifying vibrations that we all know from watching movies at the cinema. Moreover the deep bass frequencies, which you hear from sub woofers, are practically from all sides as they are at the level or below human hearing levels. It is impossible to detect from which direction the sound is coming, so the sound of an earthquake feels as if it is happening all around us.
Find copper wire cables that you can use including silver copper wire cables and magnetic copper wire cable.
While the position of the sub woofer is just about anywhere in the room but to get optimum output, you have to consider the size of the room, the type of flooring it has, the furnishing fabrics and the construction of the wall. Typically, best placement for a sub-woofer is in the front of the room, just to the left or right of the main speakers. Used speakers cost far less of course. There are many systems available and it will depend on your budget in the end but look out for a set of Canton movie CD-1 (now referred to as CD-101) which offer excellent value for money.
Blu-ray December 20, 2008
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentBlu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of the world’s leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers (including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson). The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data.
The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. This extra capacity combined with the use of advanced video and audio codecs will offer consumers an unprecedented HD experience. Recent development by Pioneer has pushed the storage capacity to 500GB on a single disc by using 20 layers.
While current optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVDR, DVDRW, and DVDRAM rely on a red laser to read and write data, the new format uses a blue-violet laser instead, hence the name Blu-ray. Despite the different type of lasers used, Blu-ray products can easily be made backwards compatible with CDs and DVDs through the use of a BD/DVD/CD compatible optical pickup unit.
The benefit of using a blue-violet laser (405nm) is that it has a shorter wavelength than a red laser (650nm), which makes it possible to focus the laser spot with even greater precision. This allows data to be packed more tightly and stored in less space, so it’s possible to fit more data on the disc even though it’s the same size as a CD/DVD. This together with the change of numerical aperture to 0.85 is what enables Blu-ray Discs to hold 25GB/50GB.
Blu-ray is currently supported by about 200 of the world’s leading consumer electronics, personal computer, recording media, video game and music companies. The format also has support from all Hollywood studios and countless smaller studios as a successor to today’s DVD format. Many studios have also announced that they will begin releasing new feature films on Blu-ray Disc day-and-date with DVD, as well as a continuous slate of catalog titles every month. For more information about Blu-ray movies, check out our Blu-ray movies and Blu-ray reviews section which offers information about new and upcoming Blu-ray releases, as well as what movies are currently available in the Blu-ray format.
The commerical application on mass blu-ray disc duplication is Blu-ray Duplicator or BD duplicator For more information about Blu-ray duplicators, please see Blu-ray FAQ.
SpeedPPC: The quickest PPC management tool on the planet December 20, 2008
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentSaw an interesting AdWords management program recently. Branded SpeedPPC it lets you build massive PPC accounts in double-quick time. The art of running AdWords accounts effectively is to construct your campaigns so that they include a chunky range of keywords with ad copy appropriate to each keyword too. Writing ad copy like that increases your click through rate which is good for traffic volume and for keeping your click costs under control.
SpeedPPC takes this approach one step further: it lets you construct landing pages that are focused on each keyword too. So you can rapidly build a complete sales conversion pipeline consisting of an enormous number of keywords, ads that are relevant to each keyword with keyword level URLs that ensure that your web traffic land on a web page that includes the exact words they have been looking for when they clicked on your ad. The result is that you are much more likely to get conversions from your PPC traffic.
This process is common practice but the problem most adwords managers suffer from is a shortage of time and this is where SpeedPPC really helps. In fact I watched a demonstration of somebody using SpeedPPC that showed them setting up a complete PPC campaign consisting of over 8710 keywords and over 430 ads all in appropriately targeted Ad Groups as well as over 8700 landing pages - all in about 12 minutes!
I guess if you are running a lot of AdWords campaigns or if you take your affiliate marketing really seriously then a system like SpeedPPC is a real time saver.
