Transcription November 13, 2008
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentTranscription is an analytic act which requires many analytic decisions. How much transcription is necessary, at what level of detail, for each research project? Transcription is divided into 3 stages: initiation, elongation and termination. Transcription is one of those jobs that many people know can be done from home, and so the interest level is very high. Unfortunately, there are many companies out there trying to capitalize on that interest.
Medical billing and coding specialists generally receive on-the-job training from their employer, but many employers prefer to hire workers who have completed training. Most billing clerks need at least a high school diploma. Medical billing and coding training can let you deal with numbers, organization and patient interaction while relieving you of most physical duties. Medical billing and coding schools in California typically offer courses ranging from several months to several years. The precise course you require will depend on the level of computing, billing, and medical knowledge you already possess.
Medical transcriptionists held about 101,000 jobs in 2002. About four out of 10 worked in hospitals and another three out of 10 worked in offices of physicians. Medical transcriptionists may be saved a little typing when interpreting such programs, but they still must find a way to most clearly state the doctor’s intent while removing all irrelevant material. Medical transcriptionists have therefore become a vital link between the physician and the patient.
Medical transcriptionist careers should grow faster than average through 2014. As with many healthcare services, a growing and aging population will spur demand for medical transcription services. Medical transcriptionists work at hospitals, laboratories, clinics, medical transcription companies, and physicians offices. They transcribe vital medical procedure and insurance information dictated by surgeons, physicians, and medical specialists. Medical transcriptionists are compensated in various ways. Some get their salaries based on the number of lines transcribed or hours worked.
BBQ Right! And Enjoy The Good Bluegrass Music! November 13, 2008
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentI’ve been working hard here lately and now it’s time for some BBQ and Bluegrass Music! Some of my favorite bands are Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Dale McCoury Band, Dan Tyminski and any band that has a great mandolin picker.
We have a local BBQ place that knows how to do BBQ Right! Sometimes we go over there on Friday orSaturday night, eat some good BBQ and listen to great bluegrassmusic. The other night the band played some Ralph Stanely, Bill Monroe and Flatt and Scruggs tunes. I asked my wife to please get me a copy of the Flatt and Scruggs old TV shows for my birthday. I think she will!
Speaking of BBQ, do you know how Natural Gas vs Propane vs Charcoal stacks up? I am thinking about getting a Grill and was wondering which one is best. Nothing like some good ribs basted in barbeque sauce fixed on an open grill on Saturday night! Almost forgot the beverage, NOT! A cool, refreshing cold drink of choice puts the final touch on the meal.
Oh, on a totally different subject, I am in the process of re-doing my home office and ran across a site that has a ton of good information on such topics as Outfitting a Home Office, Choosing An Office Copier and lots more. They also have a ton of office equipment and supplies to help with the make over. So this should make my new project go a lot faster which means I can get back to the BBQ and Bluegrass Music!
A REVIEW OF BATHROOM ACCESSORIES FOR HOME BATHROOM REMODELING November 13, 2008
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentMost bathroom faucets are mounted directly on the sink or on the counter directly behind the sink. There is also the option of wall mounting. Bathroom faucets are available in brass, chrome, porcelain, various colors of plastic and ceramic as well as nickel and stone. Because these are used on a daily basis, we encourage you to purchase the highest-quality faucets available in your price range. A quality bathroom faucet will cost you less in the long run because it won’t need much maintenance and will look good for years.
Bathroom faucets are the culprits of much water waste. Luckily, you can easily save water by installing a new lavatory faucet with a water-saving aerator. Most kitchen and bathroom faucets are made of brass, containing between 3 and 10 % lead. This makes them a significant source of lead in drinking water. So unusual in both form and hue, the Teo bathroom faucets are an exciting option for those who enjoy exploring design with a splash of color.
Portable Hot Tubs are now available in a range of styles and colors so it is no longer necessary to only consider installing a bath in the traditional white finish. Think about purchasing a bathtub in either a softly muted shade or, for the more adventurous, a bold striking color. Fortunately, walk in bathtubs are available to make bathing safer and more comfortable. Many whirlpool tubs are of superior quality.
Acrylic clawfoot tubs are available in the same styles as cast iron clawfoot tubs, but weigh much less. They offer the same durability and easy care. Drain the water in the supply tubes into a bucket or bowl. Remove the locknuts and the washers on both tailpieces, then lift out the faucet.
Nearly all homes contain at least one bathtub, even if they have a separate whirlpool. Some homes have several. Compression molding is used to make both plastic and fiber reinforced bathtubs. For reinforced bathtubs, a mixture of fibers, polyester resin, and pigments, fillers, and other additives are mixed together and formed into a sheet. These tubs generally cover about 5 feet along one wall, 4 feet along the other, and extend 3 to 5 feet out into the room.

3 Simple Steps Towards Cheaper Car Insurance November 13, 2008
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentMotor car insurance costs vary greatly from insurance company to insurance company and even for different customers within the same insurance company. Here are three simple steps you can take towards accessing cheaper car insurance.
1. Get the right car. Insurers charge different premiums for different models of cars. Therefore, some cars have access to cheaper insurance premiums than others, and the differences can be quite significant. Car models with good safety records are generally charged lower insurance premiums than cars with poor safety records. Newer cars are also on average charged lower insurance premiums than older cars, although the difference here can be marginal. The Internet has some websites that collect and publish statistics on the average insurance premiums charged on different car models by various insurers. This can be an important guide on the car models to go for when next shopping for a new car.
The car model insurance premium statistics can also aid you in knowing whether your insurer is giving you a bargain or fleecing you, considering your car model, its age and the insurance premium you are paying for it.
2. Get the Right Insurance Package. Having gotten the right car, you can further lower your motor car insurance costs by shopping for the right insurance package. As it were, the various insurance packages offered to motorists have a variety of features that are ideal for some groups of motorist and superflous for others. Usually the more the features in an insurance package, the more expensive the package. Yet many people buy motor car insurance without looking too carefully at the fine print in the insurance. The key to getting the right car insurance is shopping and comparing widely. Before the age of the Internet, this would have been a major hassle. You would have to go knocking on many insurers’ offices, asking questions and taking catalogues. Many motorists often found the saving not worth the trouble.
With the aid of the Internet however, shopping for the best motor car insurance deal shouldn’t be hard. Most insurers’ websites have features through which you can easily get and compare online car insurance quotes. These online car insurance quotes are usually given free of charge, and no commitment is required. Shopping and comparing a wider pool of insurance products can help you in making a better choice of an insurance package.
3. Drive the car carefully. Having bought the right car and gotten the right insurance package for it, the next step towards cheaper car insurance is driving carefully. Insurers normally charge lower motor car insurance premiums to motorists who have a good accident-free driving history. This is because the insurers consider these drivers less risky to insure than their ‘more careless’ counterparts. Conversely, insurers charge higher motor car insurance premiums to motorists who have bad and accident-dotted driving histories.
This is because these more accident-prone motorist are considered greater risks by insurers and they therefore charge them higher premiums.
Thus by getting the right car, getting the right insurance package for it and driving it carefully, you put yourself on the line for cheaper car insurance premiums. Car insurance costs constitute a big part of many people’s total motoring costs, and the savings on motor car insurance costs are often worth the effort involved in making them possible.
Secrets to Weight Loss Success November 13, 2008
Posted by Pat in : nothing in particular , add a commentHave you been struggling with your weight for a long time? Have you tried several fad diets, or maybe even taken diet pills, but none of them worked to get the excess weight off you? You most likely have tried starving yourself. In fact, you probably tried to starve yourself first before trying out all the other fad diets.
Do you lack the willpower to lose weight? Do you need weight loss motivation?
What you need to realize is that starving yourself is not going to (and won’t ever) help you lose weight. In fact, starvation can cause you to keep those excess pounds on and even add on a few! By the way, did you make exercise a part of your weight loss plan? No?
No wonder you can’t shed off those unwanted pounds! The keys to weight loss are nutrition and exercise. And you have to be consistent and persistent too.
Eating a well-balanced diet is one key to sustainable weight loss in the long term. This means cutting back (or eliminating) on fatty foods, junk food, sugary drinks and similar foods. You also need to exercise to increase your body’s metabolism. The better your metabolism, the more efficient your body is burning the calories. When your body is efficiently burning calories, you will see the weight come off. There are breathing exercise designed to encourage weight loss.
Doing the above mentioned isn’t a one-off thing. You need to be consistent — in eating healthy foods and on exercising. Don’t act surprised if you don’t lose weight if you’re still eating the same unhealthy foods you’ve been eating. And you need to be persistent. Don’t expect to shed off the excess pounds overnight; it takes time. Your body needs to adjust itself to a healthy weight loss plan for a few weeks.
Let’s take an even closer look at each of the key aspects to successful weight loss:
1. Nutrition
Switch to non-fattening foods that will provide your body with sufficient amounts of nutrients it needs to function efficiently on a daily basis. Starving yourself doesn’t work for weight loss. Why? When your body recognizes that you are starving it, it will go into survival mode and store whatever food you give it. It may be counterintuitive, but eating can cause weight loss, not starving! Go for low-fat and no-fat foods. Consume fresh fruits and vegetables every day. If you love meat, go for lean meat, preferably salmon or chicken instead of red meat.
2. Exercise
Exercise not only helps your heart become stronger and make you healthy overall, it helps raise your metabolism. The higher your metabolism, the faster your body burns calories. You can achieve weight loss safely if the amount of calories your body is burning is more than the calories you are consuming. Health experts recommend exercising at least 30 minutes three times a week. Walking, cycling and swimming are exercises that can help promote weight loss.
3. Deep Breathing
A few times during the day, do a 15-minute deep breathing session. It is believed that deep breathing helps your body burn energy.
4. Consistency and Persistence
Frankly, weight loss motivation should be at #1, but for most people it’s the least considered part of a successful weight loss plan.
In order for your weight loss plan to be effective, you need to be consistent and persistent. Keep eating healthy meals and exercising regularly. If you waver or skimp on any part of your weight loss plan, you’ll stop losing weight.
A Few More Tips
Instead of eating 3 big meals, try to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals. Don’t eat four hours before you go to bed as doing so can disrupt your sleep. Your body needs to rest at night and it can’t do that if it has to digest the foods you’ve eaten close to bed time.
No fad diet or diet pill can bring you the same results of a healthy weight loss plan that involves proper nutrition and exercise. This weight loss plan is safe too and guaranteed to give you results!
